Stamped Parts for the Automotive & Electronics Industry with a Plant Located South of Atlanta Is Seeking the Entrepreneurial Technical Sales & Project Management Engineer

Our client is a mid-sized family owned developer and manufacturer of stamped parts for the international automotive and electronics industry.  The core technologies are stamping, plastic molded insertions, rivets, plus tool making and cleaning technologies.  In business for more than 60 years, the German-based company is known for innovation, quality, service and efficiency. 



The Position and Responsibilities

We have been assigned to identify and select a highly qualified Sales and Project Engineer with entrepreneurial spirit and drive for the small plant in Georgia with about 25 people. 

After intensive training your tasks include pursuing new sales leads, acquiring new business and managing sales of custom-designed stamped parts.  Furthermore, you will coordinate the manufacturing of stamping dies at the parent company in Germany.  In addition, you will evaluate new projects in cooperation with your customers and the tool-design engineering department at the parent company in Germany as well as establish the required manufacturing processes. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Acquisition of new customers and markets in the NAFTA region
  • Evaluation of customer designs and feasibility of the production process/stamping tool design
  • Provide engineering support to the customers to obtain the most cost effective piece/part design
  • Administer RFQs and issue the quotation after finalizing the tool design and manufacturing process feasibility
  • Request quotations for materials and external processes required to calculate the manufacturing costs / sales price
  • Purchase new stamping dies and production equipment from the parent company
  • Coordinate the launch of new products following the IATF 16949 guidelines, chairing the APQP team


The Qualifications and Requirements

  • BS/MS degree in mechanical engineering
  • 10 years of progressive experience, preferably in application, production and/or technical sales engineering
  • 5 years of experience in engineering of customized tools and dies in a IATF 16949 compliant manufacturing environment
  • 4 years of concurrent experience in technical sales.
  • English proficiency essential and basic German is strongly preferred
